Kids & Youth Dance classes
In 2023 we have launched our all new Jungle City Dance Company and our Juniors Crew for 6 – 11 years. This crew is open for kids that have a natural talent for dance and want to explore their skills in the styles of Afro Dances, Dancehall and Hip Hop. By joining our Jungle City junior crew your child will benefit from the following developmental and performance outcomes:
– Competency in the foundations of Afro dance, Dancehall and Hip Hop social dance forms
– Learning from a historical and cultural perspective
– appropriate to junior students
– Leadership, social skills, team work and creative development
– Performance skills and participation in 2 major productions per year
– Awards and acknowledgement of attendance and participation.
Students do not need prior experience to join the crew but must have a commitment to attend at least one full term as our program is taught progressively week by week with different learning objectives each term. In term 4 students will have the opportunity to perform as part of our end of year production taking place on the 2nd & 3rd of December.

Chuby Dice
Dance artist / Performer / Choreographer / Dance creator / Instructor / Jamaican Dancehall Culture Ambassador
Chuby Dice is one of the top dancers in Jamaica and leader of Jamaican dancehall crew Black Dice. He featured on the big screen in films including ‘Intent 2’ and ‘King of the Dancehall’ directed by Nick Cannon, and music videos for top artists including Vybz Kartel, Busta Rymes, Stylo G, Elephant Man, Shawn Storm and Australian producer Monkey Marc to name a few. His team Black Dice have gained much street cred and global recognition over the past few years for bringing the fire back to Jamaican Dancehall street parties with their pyrotechnic displays, and creation of popular party steps such as ‘Falla Fashi’, ‘Swing It’, ‘Move a Foot’, and ‘Tek Piece a It’ to name a few.
In Australia, Chuby has performed at festivals including MONA FOMA, JMFF, St Kilda Festival and Moomba, supported international touring artists such as Konshens, and judged the Australian Dancehall King and Queen competition. As a highly knowledgeable and sort after dance instructor he has delivered workshops in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane and of course back home in Jamaican with students traveling from all over the world to learn authentic Jamaican dance from the source.
Now based in Melbourne Chuby Dice is teaching and performing regularly as part of the Jungle City team, as well as in schools educating the next generation of Dancehall dancers in Australia.
Kitty Cat

Cat Pwiti aka Kitty Cat, founder of Burncity Queenz (Melbourne’s first official Dancehall dance group), and Jungle City projects, has over 15 years experience in the industry as a dancer and arts practitioner. As a member of Burncity Queenz Cat has performed alongside big name artists in Dancehall and Afrobeats including: Elephant Man, Demarco, Cecil, Bracket, Stone Boy, and Konshens to name a few. Cat has travelled to Jamaica seven times over the past six years to learn Dancehall by the creators of the dances, and founded True Jamaican Dancehall Tours in 2014 – bringing Jamaican dancers to Australia, and taking Australian students to Jamaica to learn Dancehall from the source.
Cat was the First Australian in history to enter the International Dancehall Queen competition, and in 2015 ranked Top Ten in the 19th Annual IDHQ Competition. She has toured around Australia sharing her knowledge and love of Dancehall and helped grow the Dancehall community through her hard work and dedication to the culture.
In 2018, alongside her Burncity Queenz crew members Cat became one of the official back up dancers for Baker Boy and has featured in several of his videos including ‘Marryuna’ the award winning ‘Meditjin’. In 2019 Cat began her studies into Dance Movement therapy and in the coming years plans to unite her knowledge of dance and DMT to better support the community using dance as a tool for healing.
