Join Lerato Masiyane and Chuby Dice for an authentic introduction to African Dance forms and Jamaican Dancehall. Learn an original choreography fusing both dances created collaboratively by Chuby Dice and Lerato to one of the most trending Afro-Dancehall cross over tune! This workshop will include the filming of a choreography video that will be made available to all students attending after the class.

Chuby Dice

Dance artist / Performer / Choreographer / Dance creator /  Instructor / Jamaican Dancehall Culture Ambassador

Chuby Dice is one of the top dancers in Jamaica and leader of Jamaican dancehall crew Black Dice. He featured on the big screen in films including ‘Intent 2’ and ‘King of the Dancehall’ directed by Nick Cannon, and music videos for top artists including Vybz Kartel, Busta Rymes, Stylo G, Elephant Man, Shawn Storm and Australian producer Monkey Marc to name a few. His team Black Dice have gained much street cred and global recognition over the past few years for bringing the fire back to Jamaican Dancehall street parties with their pyrotechnic displays, and creation of popular party steps such as ‘Falla Fashi’, ‘Swing It’, ‘Move a Foot’, and ‘Tek Piece a It’ to name a few.

In Australia, Chuby has performed at festivals including MONA FOMA, JMFF, St Kilda Festival and Moomba, supported international touring artists such as Konshens, and judged the Australian Dancehall King and Queen competition. As a highly knowledgeable and sort after dance instructor he has delivered workshops in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane and of course back home in Jamaican with students traveling from all over the world to learn authentic Jamaican dance from the source.

Now based in Melbourne Chuby Dice is teaching and performing regularly as part of the Jungle City team, as well as in schools educating the next generation of Dancehall dancers in Australia.

Lee Masiyane

Dance artist / Performer / Choreographer / Dance and fitness instructor

Lee has been dancing for as long as she can remember – firstly in the style of Hip hop and then, since arriving in Australia, and joining Melbourne’s top Dancehall crew Burncity Queenz has become highly acclaimed for her skills in Dancehall and Afrodances. Lee placed 3rd in the Australian Dancehall Queen competition in 2015 and travelled to Jamaica in that same year to learn from the creators first hand in Jamaica.

Over the past few years Lee’s career has gone from strength to strength – not only with her position at Jungle City, and as a member of Burncity Queenz, but also as a solo performer, performing with the likes of Sampa the Great, Baker Boy and featuring in numerous music videos with local and international artists.
