Jungle City Dance Company

Jungle City Dance Company is a gateway for ordinary humans to be extraordinary in their lives by transforming through dance.

JCDC members take part in weekly training intensives in all styles taught by Kitty Cat, Chuby Dice and Lerato Masiyane with guest instructors specializing in Dancehall, Afro Fusion and other Street and Cultural dance styles. We focus on developing foundational understanding, technique, musicality, rhythm, stamina, freestyle, movement vocabulary, performance skills, and overall cultural understanding and awareness of the dances we practice, as well as creating space for personal development, self-expression, and creative expansion. Members of our company participate in regular performance opportunities as a group ensemble and are invited to attend regular social events where we build our local dance community, social networks and create lived experiences of expression through dance, music and culture.

To join our dance company we recommend having completed at least one year of training with us in our beginner dance courses and/or casual classes and be at an intermediate level in your dance ability. Members are expected to attended our weekly training session as well as additional classes, workshops and events throughout the year to remain active in the company.
